New vocabulary/phrase

I will update all the new words I encountered via reading news, books, novel here:
+ In succession: in series, consecutive or in a row
+ A combination of injuries, inconsistency and the pulling power of money: describe a footballer/character
+ The colossal legacy: a huge collection of item/things in terms of both spirit and material
+ Mitt: the big and large gloves, e.g: for the goalkeeper. I know this word when watching the serie "Young Sheldon"
+ "A began the shootout with who typically scored his effort. The C swiftly responded with a successful strike from D. E then scored his, reestablishing the X lead, before F eradicated it. This habit of success continued unabated as the two sides traded goals – G, H, I, J, K, L – until the score read five apiece and the time for sudden death was upon them". This is how to describe a penalty shoot-out.
